From Bangladesh, to Thailand, to New York, to Oregon, through gorgeous prose as beautiful as it is biting, poetic as it is political, and healing as it is haunting, Zaman explores the many difficulties, dangers, and, ultimately, the necessity for all women, all people, to own and use their voices.

With astonishing courage and intimacy, Zaman offers up a memoir written to alleviate the loneliness that often arises from being human in this world. I Am Yours is an iconic debut that promises to shake global literature.

Praise

“Tender, fierce, compassionate, and wise, Reema Zaman’s I Am Yours is a moving story about how one woman found her voice—and her power. I was enthralled by this beautiful book from the first page to the last.” Cheryl Strayed, #1 New York Times bestselling author

“Powerfully vulnerable and eloquent, Zaman’s voice is a fire—full-throated, wide-open, and roaring.” Foreword Reviews (starred review)

“Reema Zaman delivers her memoir in a bold, firm voice full of strength…She draws the listener in as though we were sitting down for coffee and swapping stories of our youth…She dramatizes memories from her younger years by using a childlike persona…Listeners are carried along by this engaging contemporary story of migration, family, and self-discovery.” AudioFile

“Powerfully explores the intersection of personal and political, for the sake of creating a world where all voices are welcome and respected.” BookRiot

“In this candid book, Zaman not only celebrates her quest to define herself and her voice, but also to find health, self-love, and wholeness. An eloquently searching and intelligent memoir.” Kirkus Reviews

“The strength of the narrative portrays how a person who has contended with enormous tragedy can summon the resolve to confront and rise above it, and courageously share it with others.” Library Journal

“Reema Zaman’s prose is as ablaze. Lyrical, precise, in places frothing with desire or rage or faith, these are hard stories, let loose at last with grace, sagacity, and dollops of clever humor. At its heart, I Am Yours is a story of hope. In this time of #metoo, #timesup, and #whyididntreport, this time of women—especially Women of Color—at last sweeping into political power, and also this time of tremendous backlash, Reema Zaman’s powerhouse hope is just what we need.” Longreads

“Reema Zaman has the voice and wisdom of a leader.” Rene Denfeld, author of The Child Finder

“It’s more than a memoir; it’s a spiritual guide. Zaman will pull you up by your heartstrings and remind you that you alone are the author of your life. The last word belongs to us if only we are brave enough to speak. Poetic, healing, and so necessary.” Gemma Hartley, author of Fed Up
