this was my first book of the series. It was like a cosy mystery, but not as annoying. If you know what I mean. I really enjoyed it and adding a dog to the story is always a plus for me. I am going to start the first book in the series now.
I don't know how M. C. Beaton does it. The crimes are surprising and unexpected, the characters intriguing and charming, and the narration so good I could listen to it twice.
