After starting his career at the McGill Center for Intelligent Machines, he worked in ventures ranging from nanotechnology to cybersecurity before becoming a full-time author of high-concept speculative thrillers.

His bestselling debut novel, The Heretic, is the gateway to the award-winning Beyond the Wall series, an epic hard science fiction space opera. Bale wasn’t always a writer.
